“When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad, I simply remember my favorite things and then I don’t feel so bad!” (Favorite things – from The Sound of the Music)

I simply knit and then I don’t feel so bad :)

Essa combinação é: A + B + A + A +B+ A + A e a barra mais larga

A + B + A + A +B+ A + A with the larger edging

Material

2 skeins of Merino 4ply (Da Fazenda. 100% merino wool. 100g/380m)

note: if you’re going to use two colors, remember that you need for your lace edging around 200m for large one and 150m for the narrow.

>> You can buy Da Fazenda yarns on Etsy

Needle: 4mm (I suggest at least 32″long); crochet 0,60mm (to insert the beads. Optional)

notions: 4 markers; 20-30g of beads 6/0 (optional)

Notes

* Charts show the right side.

* The first and the last 3 sts are the borders. They are not represented in the charts and must be knitted in both right and wrong sides.

* Beads are optional. If you decide to use, see where to put them as indicated by the yellow marks in the charts. First, do what is described in the chart. Once you have it done, place the bead in the new stitch.

* For a better result, block your shawl when you finish it.

Now starts the fun part!

There are two charts: Raindrops (chart A) and  Roses (chart B). and multiple choices.

You can chose in which order you want to knit them:

  • You can knit only the chart A.
  • You can knit only the chart B.
  • You can alternate charts, like  ABABA BA or ABAABAA  - and here you can change your yarn color each time you change charts!
  • etc.

Important:

  • Repeat the charts 7 times total, until you have 249 sts.
  • You must knit the entire chart (16 rows) before move to the next.
  • Each part of the pattern must be repeated 2 times. Between one repetition and another, there is a dividing stitch. So, the rows are like this:

knit the border stitches – knit chart – work dividing stitch – repeat chart – knit the border stitches.

Also, the dividing stitch are always knitted in the right side rows and purled in the wrong side rows.

Let’s the fun begin!
